Southern Pines Farm

An adult, full-care boarding and training facility offering personalized
horse care for the discriminating horse owner.

The Facility

Located 6,220 feet above sea level, Southern Pines Farm (SPF) is nestled in gently rolling hills covered with Ponderosa pine trees. The facility, one of the largest in the area, affords a panoramic view of the Front Range from Pikes Peak in the south, to Long's Peak further north. Trail riding is maximized on the farm based upon the many open acres as well as the bridle trails and green space that surrounds the property. In short, it's a horseperson's paradise. Owned and operated by Michael H. Weiss and Jan Jaspers, husband and wife, purchased what was then Westover Farm in 1990 and converted it from a hunter-jumper barn to a first-class dressage facility. Renamed Southern Pines Farm, the facility boasts full-size indoor and outdoor arenas, 22 turnout paddocks and over 40 acres of pasture paddocks. The heated barn has 26 stalls, six of which can be converted into double size foaling stalls.

All of the horses are turned out everyday. And, weather permitting, they are rotated through the many pastures. Jan says, "We have constructed a facility where we allow horses to be horses. They enjoy the outdoors in safety, while we do our best to protect the environment." Life as a horse at SPF is life as it should be, lots of hay and a lot more love.
