The "Spirit & Soul" Trophy

The Southern Pines International wishes to pay tribute to the late Fiona Baan and to recognize her place in dressage history by offering a perpetual trophy in her name. This recognition will go the top scoring horse/rider combination in the Prix St.Georges and Intermediaire One levels. The horse/rider combination with the highest combined scores from any one Prix St. Georges and any one Intermediaire One class achieved during each year's Southern Pines International will be awarded the Fiona Baan Trophy "Spirit and Soul." This will be awarded on the last day of each year's event. The winner of this award each year will receive a framed lithograph to scale of the original art with an engraved plaque commemorating the show.

The Southern Pines International has commissioned California artist Suzan Hamilton to create this very special work of art. You will recognize Suzan's artwork on the cover of the 1994 SPI program as well as on the cover of many international equestrian magazines.

The Morris Animal Foundation 'VICTORY' Trophy

This award, presented by Morris Animal Foundation, is awarded to the winner of the Intermediaire 1 Freestyle performed during Dancers with Hooves. The trophy is a bronze statue depicting the strength and beauty of this level of competition, entitled "Victory", created by Evergreen, Colorado artist, Laura Mehmert and commissioned by Silvertip Farms on behalf of Morris Animal Foundation.
